THE Conservative Party have remained silent after one of their own MPs was subject to racial abuse, being told she should not be in the Commons based on her place of birth.

Nusrat Ghani, the Tory MP for Sussex Weald and deputy speaker of the Commons, was targeted after she kept members of Parliament in check during Rachel Reeves ’s delivery of the Budget on Wednesday, November 26.

Lucy White, a regular commentator for channels such as GB News and Talk TV , took to social media following the Budget and wrote: "Today, the Deputy Speaker presiding over the Budget Statement in the UK House of Commons is Nus Ghani.

"Nus Ghani was born in Kashmir, Pakistan. There should not be a single person born in Pakistan in the UK House of Commons."
