THE MP for Leeds West and Pudsey – more commonly known as Rachel Reeves – doesn’t think Scotland should be allowed to decide its own future .

Speaking on Thursday, the Chancellor was asked if a SNP majority at Holyrood in 2026 could trigger a second independence vote.

She insisted: “I’m going to be very clear, there won’t be another referendum.”

After a Supreme Court ruling, Reeves’s UK Government has the undisputed power to block or allow a second Scottish independence vote. But whether Scots think that is an acceptable state of affairs is a very different matter.
