CORNELIUS, N.C. (WBTV) - Two men were arrested after a stabbing at a Cornelius bar left one person in intensive care early Friday morning.

Cornelius police officers responded to a reported stabbing at Jay’s at the Lake on Statesville Road around 2:20 a.m. Officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

The victim was taken to CMC Main, where he underwent surgery and is now in the Intensive Care Unit.

A traffic stop on a car believed to be involved in the stabbing led to the arrests of Dale Patterson, of New York, and Denzel Washington, of Cornelius, North Carolina, police said.
