NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police agencies have found debris believed to be connected to a missing aircraft during an ongoing search operation in Lake Pontchartrain.

The New Orleans Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office LASER Division and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office are working together on the search.

On Nov. 24 and 25, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office LASER Division and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted NOPD by conducting specialized sonar exploration and imagery. Several objects were identified and examined by the NOPD Dive Team.

The objects are believed to be debris connected to the missing aircraft, police said.
