SEATTLE — The line formed early outside Climate Pledge Arena, long before the puck dropped. Families stood in line hours before doors opened anticipating a team that, until now, had never played a game at home: the Seattle Torrent.

“Been counting down the days until we could go in and make a big noise for our girls,” said Rachel Sullivan, who brought her young daughter, Remi.

Rachel and Remi were among the first in line.

“It makes me so excited that she has the opportunity to ... make it to this level if she chooses to put her mind to it and [has] an outlet to go and enjoy the sport," Sullivan said.

Joshua Drewery waited in line with his family and young daughter on his shoulders.
