A campaign to secure a banking hub for Kinross has picked up steam after local politicians combined to lodge a joint submission on the issue.
Kinross-shire SNP representatives Pete Wishart MP, Jim Fairlie MSP and Councillor Richard Watters are behind the “evidence-based proposal” to LINK — who operate across the UK helping to keep communities connected with ATMs and banking support.
In the joint submission, the politicians highlight factors including clear community need, business demand, demographic pressures, as well as the unsuitable nature of other solutions such as the Post Office and mobile bank vans.
As part of the document, testimonies are included from residents, findings from the Kinross Community Action Plan and local economic analysis.
