AGAWAM, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Massachusetts is home to 459 Christmas tree farms, to highlight this Governor Maura Healey declared Black Friday also Green Friday here in the Commonwealth. With tree farms across the Baystate now officially open for business, Western Mass News went over to a to a family-run farm in Agawam, where people have been getting their Christmas trees for generations.

The Glen Gary Christmas Tree Farm has been open since 1985, starting with David Fearn and his father who planted 2,500 trees the first year, who then passed on those traditions to his own kids.

“My son when he was 1 years old, we used to have a catering trailer and he would sit there and watch all the tractors go by, he had a great time,” said David. As well as now his grandchildren, “they just love the farm
