The Mesa City Council is set to vote on a contract for an asphalt paver at their upcoming meeting.
The meeting takes place at 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 1 at 20 E. Main St.
The council will vote on whether to approve a state of Arizona cooperative contract with Empire Southwest LLC dba Empire Machinery at $305,832.16 to provide an asphalt paver to the Fleet Services and Transportation departments.
The current asphalt paver used by the city is at the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced, according to council documents.
“This equipment plays a critical role in the Transportation Department’s asphalt maintenance programs, supporting the repair and construction of road surfaces,” council documents stated. “Field Operations will use the new paver to evenly distribute and level hot asphalt
