ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan’s identity over the course of its four-game winning streak against arch rival Ohio State has been rooted in the trenches.
An offensive line determined to push their opponent back by any means necessary, and a ferocious, dominating defensive line that forces the Buckeyes to throw the football.
On Saturday, in the Wolverines’ 27-9 loss to No. 1-ranked Ohio State , Michigan failed to win on either side. Not only did the Buckeyes win the rushing battle, 186-100, but their offensive line pushed the pile and helped churn some long, soul-crushing drives. Ohio State dominated time of possession by a 2-to-1 margin, with a 20-play, 81-yard drive that wiped 11 minutes and 56 seconds off the clock.
“I thought we would have been better at stopping the run there,” Michig
