SEATTLE — This is not the team that puts up eye-popping numbers and blows the doors off of every opponent. The team that is all flash, sizzle and pizzazz.
Oregon’s had plenty of those.
No, what is clearer than ever after the No. 6 Ducks’ 26-14 win over Washington to secure their spot in the College Football Playoff is that this team has a quality that makes it far scarier to whoever awaits in December and January.
The Ducks just win.
“It’s not supposed to be easy,” Dan Lanning said. “It’s supposed to be hard.”
And despite what the Ducks’ 11-1 record would suggest, and what their strength of schedule might tell you, it has been hard for Oregon.
Lanning’s team is better off for it.
I suppose you could argue that the Ducks seem especially vulnerable because they needed late heroic
