SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Chatham County Fire and Rescue, along with Chatham County Police, had multiple units respond to an apartment fire at the Commons on Wilmington Island Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

Fire crews responded at 12:18 am on Sunday morning, CCFD was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Cromwell Rd. for a structure fire.

District Chief 301, Battalion Chief 301, Engine 304, Engine 310, Engine 314, Squad 308, Truck 308, and Safety 301 all responded.

Arriving units encountered a fully involved, working fire to a multi-dwelling unit with possible entrapment. Upon primary search, firefighters located a person and two pets. All three were successfully removed from the structure, according to fire officials.
