The communities of Waterville and Whitehouse are having a friendly competition to collect toys for local children in need this holiday season.
Whitehouse Mayor Richard Bingham issued challenge to the city to see which town can collect the most toys, and Waterville Mayor Tim Pedro accepted.
Now until Dec. 10, donate a new, unwrapped toy in Whitehouse at the police department, 6925 Providence St., or fire department, 10550 Waterville St. In Waterville, the locations are the police department, 25 N. Second St., and fire department, 751 Waterville-Monclova Rd.
