Discussion at CRC meeting focuses on shoreline management

During a presentation at the Carolina Coastal Resources Commission’s (CRC) Nov. 19 meeting in Beaufort, CRC member Jordan Hennessy stated that, “Across our 300 miles of ocean shoreline, we are witnessing a crisis unfold. Homes are being undercut by waves…Infrastructure that once sat safely behind dunes is now falling into the surf.”

Those remarks helped spark an hour-long discussion about shoreline management alternatives among commission members, scientists and community leaders.
