POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — A Dutchess County man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly firing a loaded firearm and striking a bystander in the city last summer, authorities said Saturday.
In a press release from the Dutchess County District Attorney’s office, authorities said Anthony Guillen, 31, of Poughkeepsie, was indicted by a county grand jury Friday, Nov. 28 in connection with the shooting. Guillen was charged with attempted murder (two counts), assault (two counts), and criminal possession of a weapon (two counts), all felonies.
Authorities allege that Guillen fired a loaded firearm around 386 Main St. in the city on Friday, July 18, “approximately twelve times in a populated area, striking a bystander once in the leg.”
