A driver was shot during an early morning incident on I-95 North in Philadelphia, forcing an hours-long shutdown of the interstate, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 3:20 p.m.
The gunfire broke out before 7 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the highway, according to Trooper Paul Holdefer. The suspected shooter was quickly apprehended without incident at the scene.
The victim was hit in the shoulder and taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.
I-95 North remained closed until about 11:45 a.m. as investigators mapped the scene and collected evidence. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Additional details will be released as troopers continue gathering information from those who responded.
