A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after four people were injured following a "disturbance". The incident happened in Altrincham town centre in the early hours of this morning, Sunday (November 30).

Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Railway Street, shortly after 3.20am and remain at the scene this afternoon. One man in his 20s suffered facial injuries thought to be life-changing while a 21-year-old man received a wound to the chest. He remains in a serious and stable condition.

Another man, 51, and a woman, 52, were left with "minor injuries" after being assaulted. A 24-year-old man from the Partington area has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and section 18 assault. He re
