On a team featuring a plethora of future college talent, Sunday was one last time for Amari Sabb to shine.
With better than 30 college scholarship offers, including Alabama - the home of his older brother, Keon, and 2024 NJ.com Player of the Year Lotzeir Brooks of Millville - No. 3 wrapped up his high school career in style.
Sabb scored the first two touchdowns of the game - the second an electrifying 78-yard catch where he broke a host of tackles - as Glassboro defeated Cedar Grove, 29-14, in the NJSIAA/Xfinity Group 1 state final at Rutgers.
“It was just hard work and dedication, every day waking up knowing what the goal was and what I had to do,” Sabb said.
“It feels good to be a two-time state champion. It was always the plan - grow up and win some state championships.”
