Most of central Wisconsin received between 3 and 6 inches of snow Saturday, Nov. 29 in the first major snowstorm of the winter season, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.
There were reports of significantly higher amounts in a line that stretched across the southern part of the state with 11.7 inches of snow reported at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison; 12 inches reported in Platteville, Sun Prairie, Mequon, West Bend and West Allis; 12.4 inches in Monona; and 12.5 inches in Racine. The highest reported total was 13 inches in Lancaster in far southwestern Wisconsin.
