A man was rescued from a submerged vehicle after a serious crash in Philadelphia’s Mount Airy neighborhood on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 7:08 p.m., authorities announced.
Police and fire crews responded to the area of Lincoln Drive and Cresheim Valley Drive, where they closed the roadway and focused on a section of broken guardrail overlooking Cresheim Valley Creek, according to a release issued by Officer Tanya Little of the Philadelphia Police Department.
A car was lifted out of the creek, and the man inside was pulled from the river before being taken by medics to Albert Einstein Medical Center in extremely critical condition, police said.
Investigators have not released information on how the crash happened or whether any other vehicles were involved. The Crash Investigation Division is handling the case.
