HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A woman in her fifties is in critical condition after being struck by two cars while crossing the street Sunday evening in Hartford.

The crash happened around 5:17 p.m. near Wethersfield Avenue and Mannz Street.

According to Hartford police, a woman was in the roadway suffering from significant injuries. She was brought to the hospital for treatment.

While on scene, police determined that the female was crossing the street when she was struck by the two cars. The driver of the first vehicle returned to the scene and cooperated with police. The second vehicle fled the scene.

The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
