On Monday at 1:04 a.m. a winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid for Tuesday between 4 a.m. and 10 p.m. for Putnam and Rockland counties.
The weather service adds to be ready for, "Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches."
"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes," adds the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveway
