Suffolk Constabulary has launched its Winter of Action initiative and we were invited along for a night time walk to see it in action.
On Saturday, November 29, the police started its Winter of Action initiative which looks at anti-social behaviour, violence against women and girls and retail crime in town centres.
I joined the police for their Project Vigilant walk which was all about targeting predatory behaviour in the town centre and intervening. The patrols included plain-clothed officers, who work to spot the behaviours they look out for, and uniformed officers who then intervene.
Chief Inspector Matt Breeze said: "It could well be that their behaviour, whilst a bit concerning, is actually very innocent, or it could be some kind of ill intent.
