Heavy downpours are set to hit Greater Manchester today as a yellow Met Office weather warning comes into force.

The forecaster issued a yellow warning for rain for our region from midnight on Monday. The warning will remain in place all day and night today, until 3am on Tuesday.

Downpours are forecast non-stop all day in Greater Manchester, with a mix of heavy and light rain showers expected. The rain is not set to stop until the early hours of Tuesday morning at around 2am.

The Met Office has warned the heavy rain 'could bring disruption' with 'flooding of a few homes and businesses likely. The rain is likely to cause delays on the roads, railways and on buses.
