Police officers responded to two separate shootings in Philadelphia early Monday, officials said. In an incident on the city’s Olney section a man was killed while, officials say, just before that incident, police responded after a man was shot in the city’s Crecentville section.

A pair of separate shootings across Philadelphia early Monday left one man dead and another in critical condition, officials said.

In the deadly incident, officials said, a man -- who police did not immediately provide further identifying information on -- was shot in the chest and torso in an incident that happened just after 3:30 a.m. along the 300 block of East Somerville Avenue in Philly's Olney community.
