Jobs are to go in North Yorkshire after a timber firm crashed into administration.
Thirteen branches of National Timber Group, including one in Thurston Road, Northallerton, are to close with the potential loss of more than 1,100 jobs across the UK - eight of them in Northallerton.
Michael Magnay, Gemma Quinn and Jonathan Marston of leading professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal have now been appointed as Joint Administrators of the group, the UK’s largest independent timber distributor and processor.
Headquartered in Sheffield, the group was created through the acquisitions of brands including Thornbridge, NYTimber, Rembrand Timber and Arnold Laver.
It employs 1,150 people across 47 sites in England and Scotland and has been placed into administration following a difficult tradin
