The newly formed left-wing movement "Your Party" will not be headed by Jeremy Corbyn or Zarah Sultana following a crucial members' ballot.

At the party's inaugural conference, delegates opted for the fledgling party - which has been plagued by damaging internal disputes and the threat of legal proceedings - to be governed by "ordinary members" rather than parliamentarians.

The "collective" leadership model secured 51.6% of the vote, narrowly defeating the 48.4% who backed a conventional single leader structure. This outcome sidesteps what could have been a contentious battle between Ms Sultana, who left the Labour Party during the summer, and former Labour leader Mr Corbyn.

Party officials confirmed the arrangements would be subject to review in late 2027.
