A prison officer and an inmate who had a secret affair at a UK jail have confessed to misconduct charges.

Alicia Novas, 19, had a sexual relationship with jailed convict Declan Winkless, 30.

She provided her telephone number to the prisoner and failed to report that he was in possession of a phone and cannabis.

Novas stood in the dock at Northampton Crown Court donning a black outfit and glasses, while Winkless appeared by videolink from HMP Swaleside, in Kent, wearing a grey T-Shirt.

The pair both admitted misconduct in public office between August and December 2024.

It took place at HMP Five Wells, in Northamptonshire.

They also both admitted a separate charge of misconduct
