LAST week, Glasgow unveiled a new statue to Nelson Mandela – a figure of reconciliation, moral courage, and liberation. In Dublin, the First Minister praised Ireland’s “journey to independence”, speaking warmly of sovereignty, EU membership, and shared futures across these islands.
