WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) - A lawsuit over the death of a nurse in Willimantic has been resolved, according to the state.
State officials announced a news conference about the case of Joyce Grayson.
The news conference was set for Monday.
Grayson, 63, was a visiting nurse who was murdered by her patient, Michael Reese, in 2023, police said.
Reese was said to have been on probation for stabbing and sexually assaulting another victim. As a result, the lawsuit claimed the state did not properly supervise him when Grayson was tending to him.
The state said it agreed to pay Grayson’s family more than $2 million.
