STORRS, CT (WFSB) - The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team should remain atop The Associated Press Top 25 Women’s College Basketball Poll on Monday.

The No. 1 Huskies dismantled Xavier 104-39 when they opened Big East Conference play on Sunday in Cincinnati.

They used a season-high 18 3-pointers to do it. Four of those came from Azzi Fudd, who finished with 12 points in all.

Allie Ziebell was the team’s high scorer with 16.

While UConn remained unbeaten at 7-0, the schools closest to them in the poll, South Carolina and UCLA, both suffered losses last week.

The Huskies next game is against South Florida at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
