Residents moved into model apartments during the day while crews worked on renovations

PROVIDENCE – The owner of an income-restricted apartment and townhouse complex in Providence just finished $29 million in renovations on 108 units spread across 17 buildings.

WinnDevelopment, a subsidiary of WinnCompanies, spent $29.3 million to renovate the 108 apartments in 17 townhouse-style buildings in the Lockwood Plaza Apartments on Prairie Avenue, near the vast Women & Infants and Rhode Island Hospital complex , a cost of $271,750 per unit. The complex has a total of 209 units, with 101 in a six-story tower.
