Rhode Island is expected to get a dusting of snow on Tuesday, Dec. 2, according to the National Weather Service.

While Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont will bear the brunt of this week's snowstorm, precipitation in the Ocean State is expected to be mostly rain, with some lighter snowfall in certain areas, the NWS said.

"It's an early-season snow," said Francis Tarasiewicz, a meteorologist at the NWS office in Norton, Mass. "And some of the higher, hilly terrain of Rhode Island could see a trace amount, especially as the storm starts to wind down Tuesday night."
