Hearings start Monday on Luigi Mangione's bid to block the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office from showing or telling jurors about items seized during his arrest for the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Mangione will be in court fighting to bar evidence that prosecutors say links him to the crime. Those include a 9 mm handgun that prosecutors say matches the one used in the Dec. 4, 2024 killing.

There is also a notebook in which they say he described his intent to “wack” a health insurance executive. A date for Mangione's state murder trial has not yet been set.
