The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating an incident that took place at a residence in northeast Edmonton that left a 23-year-old dead and a 53-year-old seriously injured.

On Saturday, November 29 shortly before 8:45 p.m., police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 160A Avenue and 83 Street. Upon arrival, police found a deceased 23-year-old male in what appeared to be suspicious circumstances. Officers also located a 53-year-old female with serious, life-threatening injuries who was treated and transported to hospital.

A 25-year-old male was placed under arrest, and the EPS Homicide Section has taken over the investigation. Police believe that the male suspect, injured female and the deceased male were all known to one another. An autopsy has not yet been scheduled.
