Police arrested and charged one person after responding to an intimate partner investigation.
The Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a disturbance between two intimate partners at a residence in West Nipissing on Nov. 28 around 3:55 p.m.
Information was provided to police about pass intimate partner violence, in which one person was assaulted that had required medical attention, property was damaged, and a threat was made by the other partner, according to OPP.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old person, from Norfolk, was arrested and charged with uttering threats, assault causing bodily harm, assault and two counts of mischief.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay.
