More on Mayor Vi Lyles

Lyles was re-elected to an unprecedented fifth term last month , making her the second-longest-serving mayor in Charlotte’s history, after Pat McCrory.

City officials said a hallmark achievement of Lyles’ first term was expanding the Charlotte Area Transit System, including a 19-mile light-rail line that now connects key parts of the city.
