KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - A woman has been arrested in Kinston after a disturbance call where she injured a police officer.
On Wednesday around 11:40 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to Carver Courts regarding a reported disturbance.
Officers say 25-year-old Ashley Baker was irate, refused to leave the area, and struck an officer with a car door. Officers tried to take Baker into custody when she began actively and physically resisting.
After a brief struggle, officers were able to take her into custody. One officer sustained minor injuries during the struggle.
Officers requested EMS due to Baker’s impairment and overall behavior. However, Baker tried to assault EMS and began spitting at officers while being evaluated.
