HILLSBORO, W.Va. (WVDN) — The Yew Mountain Center in Hillsboro is to host a family-friendly event this Saturday, Dec. 6, from 12–4 p.m., as part of its Indigenous Voices Series, a collaboration between the Yew Mountain Center and the West Virginia Forest Farming Initiative.

This special gathering will highlight Indigenous history, cultural renewal, and hands-on forest stewardship practices. The event features Will Lewis, Forest Farming Coordinator at the Yew Mountain Center, and Dr. Allen Bryant, an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee and professor at Appalachian State University.

Event Schedule – Saturday, December 6:

● 12 p.m. – Lunch Attendees are invited to bring a bagged lunch; soup will also be available for purchase on site.

● 1 p.m. – Presentation by Dr. Allen Bryan
