SHREVEPORT, La. - A Louisiana student has earned one of the world’s most prestigious academic honors.
Anil Cacodcar, a Lafayette native currently studying at Harvard University, has been named a 2025 Rhodes Scholar — one of only 32 students selected nationwide this year.
The Rhodes Scholarship provides two years of fully funded postgraduate study at the University of Oxford in England. Cacodcar is the first student from Louisiana to receive the award in 10 years.
Cacodcar plans to use his time at Oxford to study the structure and shortcomings of the U.S. healthcare system, a topic he says is critically important.
