One person was killed in a Central City shooting Sunday evening and a 16-year-old boy was found wounded a few blocks away, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Police were called at 5:17 p.m. to the 2700 block of Magnolia Street, where they found a female who had been shot. She was later declared dead, police said. Police did not immediately release her age or name.

Investigators then found the wounded boy a few blocks away in the 2700 block of 7th Street. NOPD spokesperson Karen Boudrie said at 6:30 p.m. that it was still unclear whether the shootings were related.

There was no word on the teen's condition, Boudrie said.
