STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A firefighter suffered minor injuries in a blaze at a warehouse in Elm Park on Monday morning.
The fire was called at 11:12 a.m. on the roof of a one-story building at 343 Walker St. between Walker Drive and Lake Avenue, according to a spokesperson for the FDNY and EMS.
About 12 Units with 60 Fire and EMS personnel brought the “all-hands” blaze under control in less than a half-hour, at 12:18 p.m., according to the spokesperson.
EMS transported the injured firefighter to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton.
Fire marshals were called to the scene.
Firefighters were seen laying hoses at the facility and extending a ladder onto the roof of the warehouse.
Walker Street was shuttered from Lake Avenue to Granite Avenue during the emergency response.
