WASHINGTON — Burger King is diving under the sea this holiday season with a new limited-time SpongeBob menu inspired by "The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants."

The fast-food chain announced a lineup of themed items based on characters from the franchise, including SpongeBob’s Krabby Whopper, a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, mayo and ketchup on a yellow square bun. Foodies can pair the burger with Mr. Krabs’ Cheesy Bacon Tots, which are coin-shaped potato bites filled with cheese and bacon.

The seasonal offerings also include Patrick’s Star-berry Shortcake Pie, a layered strawberry-and-vanilla dessert with a cookie crumb crust and pink star sprinkles, and the Pirate’s Frozen Pineapple Float, a pineapple-flavor
