Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse has fired several members of its coaching staff, according to multiple reports, including On3 .

Special teams coordinator Ricky Brumfield, offensive line coach Dale Williams, defensive backs coach Joe Schaefer and linebackers coach/co-defensive coordinator Robert Wright were relieved of their duties Monday.

Brumfield replaced James Vollono after the 2024 season in which Fran Brown was displeased with his special teams unit. All other coaches have been with Brown since he first took the Syracuse job in late 2023.

Syracuse struggled to tackle, again, and struggled to defend against the pass in the middle of the field. Outside of freshman Antoine Deslauriers and sophomore Jamie Tremble, Syracuse received inconsistent play from its linebackers.
