A Georgia man faces life in prison after a jury took just 35 minutes to convict him of shooting his ex-girlfriend nearly a dozen times in front of their 5-month-old child.

Shawn Bolden Jr. was convicted of malice and felony murder , aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime in the 2021 death of 29-year-old Deanna Ellison, the Chatham County District Attorney's Office said in a press release.

"Bolden emptied his 9mm revolver into Deanna, reloaded it and continued to shoot her lifeless body," prosecutors wrote.

Prosecutors said Ellison left the relationship after Bolden slapped her on Mother's Day 2020 for inviting her mother over for dinner. Ellison was about three months pregnant at the time. Though they were no longer together, the pair agreed to co
