WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A homeless man is accused of robbing a man in downtown Watertown.
City police charged 29-year-old Giovanni Stephenson with felony counts of robbery and grand larceny on Monday. He also faces counts of harassment and criminal mischief.
On the night of September 29, Stephenson allegedly slammed a man into a glass door at Neighbors of Watertown on Franklin Street. The glass shattered.
According to police, Stephenson stole the man’s bicycle and a backpack containing debit and credit cards.
Police said the two men knew each other.
Stephenson was arraigned on the charges in city court and is being held in the Jefferson County jail on $500 bail.
