After weeks of speculation, the White House has released the results of President Donald Trump’s recent MRI scan, revealing no health issues.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt read from a memo by presidential physician Dr. Sean Barbabella on Monday, Dec. 1, confirming that the MRI, performed in October during a routine physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, showed “perfectly normal” results for Trump’s cardiovascular system and abdomen.
The scan was described as a standard preventive measure for men Trump’s age and part of his executive health evaluation. The release is intended to address ongoing public and media speculation about Trump’s health and stamina as he approaches age 80.
Dr. Barbabella’s summary stated, “Cardiovascular imaging showed normal heart chambers, smooth vessel walls, excellent blood flow, and overall superior health.” Abdominal imaging, he added, “revealed healthy, well-perfused organs with no acute or chronic problems.”
The release follows a period of media attention after Trump mentioned the MRI offhandedly on Monday, Oct. 27, leading to questions about why he underwent additional testing after his spring physical. The White House did not share any images from the scan, only the physician’s written assessment.
The exam’s findings matched those from Trump’s annual checkup in April 2025, which also deemed him in excellent health. According to Dr. Barbabella, there was “no arterial narrowing impairing blood flow, no abnormalities in the heart or major vessels, normal-sized heart chambers, smooth and healthy vessel walls, and no signs of inflammation or clotting, with overall excellent cardiovascular health.”
Trump had previously called the results “perfect,” though he admitted he was unsure which body parts were scanned, clarifying it was not his brain.
