After being a stay-at-home mom for a few years, Toledoan Lauren Guy realized that it wasn’t for her.
“It really took a toll on my mental health,” Mrs. Guy said. “And just being cooped up in the house with no money is just not something that I enjoy.”
Before she came to that realization, Mrs. Guy had been making candles with a candle-making kit she got as a gift from her husband, Jack. She made her own candle brand and started featuring her candles in different boutiques in Toledo, which she quickly found wasn’t financially feasible.
Mrs. Guy’s negative experiences with boutiques prompted her to provide the kind of space for other local vendors that she didn’t have.
