WOOD CO., Ohio (WTVG) - A Walbridge man died after his snowmobile struck a utility pole while traveling in a field in Lake Township, Saturday evening.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Robert Bortles III was westbound on the 5000 block of Latcha Road when the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m.

Bortles was declared deceased at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
