The Toledo Public Schools has announced it will reopen Head Start programs beginning Tuesday.

Jim Gault, chief of educational development at Toledo Public Schools, said the district received word at 3:20 p.m. Monday that it has received its full grant for the programs.

The Administration of Adults and Families has told us we are receiving $13.4 million for the full year,” Mr. Gault said. “We do not have to reapply for the grant in January, and we will not be affected if there is a shutdown in January.”

Mr. Gault said the district is currently working into the evening to get the staff reinstated and families notified.

“We are so sorry our staff and families had to go through this,” Mr. Gault said. “Now we do not have to worry about funding until next year.”
