GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - School superintendents across the region are preparing for early morning decisions on whether to close schools or delay start times as a winter storm approaches Tuesday.
Glastonbury Superintendent Dr. Alan Bookman will join nine other superintendents on a 4 a.m. conference call to assess weather conditions and make closure decisions.
The winter storm is expected to bring snow and rain, potentially making roads slippery for school buses and commuters.
Bookman said the decision to close schools is challenging because it affects working parents differently.
“Sometimes a parent calls school and says, ‘Why wasn’t school cancelled? The driveway is icy.’ You can’t satisfy everybody,” Bookman said. “Keep in mind that when it’s marginal and people can get to school
